Restoration of Heritage Sites on ‘Afghan’ Model

Good news underway for heritage lovers ! The proposal to restore heritage landmarks of Rajasthan on “Afghan model” gets green signal. Now, the historical monuments, buildings, museums and other tourist places in state will be conserved and restored the way conservation projects were taken up in Iran, Kabul, Hyderabad and Delhi.

The princely state boasts of its architectural heritage that includes magnificent palaces, , intricately carved temples, majestic forts, decorated havelis, which were built by
kings in previous ages. The decision to restore these enduring landmarks that are part of state’s glorious past is overwhelming. The state’s
tourism will get boom as the concept of tourism
is changing worldwide. No more, it’s just about wildlife, forests and scenic beauty. It is taking a shift from static tourism to cultural tourism, where the way of life and culture are shared.

Each iconic building tells its own and place’s story. We expect that original elements of heritage will remain identifiable in the process of restoration so that future generation can comprehend the story of the place.
