Rajasthan “The Land of Kings” is one of the pleasurable and unforgettable tourist’s destinations of India and Jaisalmer is the most popular tourist destination in Rajasthan. The magnificent Golden Fort in Jaisalmer is also one of the oldest forts and the main attraction in Rajasthan. You will all be glad to know that heritage walk across the Golden Fort is soon going to be a reality. The work on the project has begun with great enthusiasm. The state govt. has made a budget provision of Rs. 50 lakh for the heritage walk.
The idea behind a heritage walk here is to give tourists an idea of the history, lifestyle and the culture of this largest fort in the world, the battles that took place here and the architectural marvels. An extensive route has been marked for the heritage walk, covering all the important historical monuments inside the fort. The walk will begin from the main gate of the Fort. It would go through the famous Salem Singh’s Nathmal, Patwa and Sarda Para havelis and would end at the gate itself.
The route will give you a glimpse into the colonies and towns amid the fort as well as into the bastions and fortress that guarded them from enemies during the medieval times.
New sign boards would be installed and there would also be the renovation of some structures before it finally becomes one of the best heritage walks in India.
Anticipations are high already 🙂
