Ganesh Chaturthi marks the birth of Lord Ganesha and is celebrated all over the country and celebrated to commemorate the origin of Lord Ganesh, who is said to have been born on this day.
In Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan the festival is rather special. The temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha is located in the fort of Ranthambhore, about 12kms from Sawai Madhopur .. The week long festival of Ganesh Chaturthi magnetize million of devotees to Ranthambore every year. The idol is tinted in Orange color which is a highly sacred color, particularly in Hindu religion. Gorgeous and heavy golden ornaments as well as several wreath of marigold are utilized to festoon the idol. A number of small but beautiful shops in the nearby market draw the attention of visitors and tourists.
Finally the idol is carefully submerged into the nearby river which indicates the end of the ceremony.
This temple is the special site for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations attracting devotees from all over to join in the singing of devotional songs and merry.
