Jaipur is all set for its winter polo season which will begin from 29 December to 1 February. With the leading players of the game participating in the season – some exciting polo is in the offing. This was informed by the Vice President of the Rajasthan Polo Club (RPC), Maharaj Jai Singh Ji at a press conference today. He also informed that H.H. Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur will also participate in the season. He has an handicap of -2. He has also being playing polo in England where he is studying now. Maharaj Narendra Singh was also present on the occasion.
Maharaj Jai Singh Ji further informed that the foreign players from Argentina and England are participating in the season. He said that world renowned polo player from Argentina, Nacho Figures (+7 handicap) and Guards Polo Club team from England will participate in the polo tournaments. He said that the season will start with Shree Cement Kota Cup (06 goals) from 29 December to 4 January. It will be followed by the Royal Gems & Arts SMS Gold Vase Cup which will be played from 5 January to 11 January. The Mount Shivalik Polo Challenge Cup (10 goals) will be played from 12 January to 18 January. This year the St. Regis HH Sawai Bhawani Singh Cup will be played from 19 January to 24 January. It will be a 10 goals tournament. The high-handicap Vodafone Sirmur Cup (14 goals) will take place from 26 January to 1 February.
In the series of one-day exhibition matches Exhibition Polo Match will take place on 10 January, followed by Rajmata Gayatri Devi Memorial Cup on 17 January. Similarly, matches for Maharaj Prithi Singh Baria Cup will be held on 25 January and the Raghu Sinha Mala Mathur Memorial Cup will be played on 31 January.
Most of the leading players of the game will participate in the Jaipur Polo Season. They are : Syed Shamsheer Ali (+6); Syed Basir Ali, Dhruvpal Godara, Simran Shergill and Sameer Suhag (+5), Syed Hamza Ali, Uday Kalan, Abhimanu Pathak, Gaurav Shahgal, Maj. Ravi Rathore and Maj. Vishal Chauhan (+4); Bhawani Kalvi, Lokendra Singh, Vishal Singh, Manupal Godara and Angad Kalan are +3 handicap; Kr. Ransher Singh Rathore, Himmat Singh Bedla and Tarun Bilwal all are +2 handicap; Kuldeep Singh Rathore +1 handicap and Maharaj Narendra Singh is +0 handicap. Some officers from the 61 cavalry and Army will also participate in the polo tournament.

Furthermore, the exhibition matches will also be organized by the Rambagh Palace – Taj Group, Rani Priti Samode and Raghu Sinha Mala Mathur Charity Trust.
