The Dry Sea Of Rajasthan Now A Bio-Heritage Site

Sambhar Lake, situated 96 km from Jaipur – usually known as India’s largest salt lake is now declared as a bio-heritage site.  Sambhar, a dry lake has a perfect picturesque landscape where you can see the sun syncing in the side of the earth. The location seems to be the end with a proper demarcation of the earth and you can see the horizon.

With a number of migratory birds flocking in this area, the Rajasthan State Diversity Board declared to preserve this site for its flora and fauna. With a decrease in the number of migratory birds in this pristine white salt water lake, there has been a major need to preserve its rich biodiversity. The lake which is a house to many migratory birds like flamingos, storks, sandpipers, and red-shanks, coots and black winged stilts are some.
