It’s sad for the entire heritage tourism fraternity to hear about the demise of Thakur Kesri Singh Ji Mandawa. A pioneer in Heritage Tourism, Thakur Kesri Singh had been ailing for some time. He was 75 years old.
Thakur Kesri Singh was responsible for putting Mandawa and the Shekhawati Region on the world tourism map. He was one of the founder members of the Indian Heritage Hotel Association. He was on the Board of Directors of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) for 4 years from 1995 to 1998. He was also awarded the Regional Tourism award for Northern India 6 times by the Government of India, Department of Tourism from 1994 to 1999.
Thakur Kesri Singh was also serving as the President of the Shardul Education Trust. He also served twice as the member of the Governing Body of the prestigious Ashok Club in Jaipur.
Survived by his wife and three children, Thakur Saab will be remembered for introducing the heritage tourism in Rajasthan.
The funeral was held today i.e. 5th June 2019 in Mandawa.
