Great Indian Travel Bazaar gets underway in Jaipur

Great India Travel Bazaar, a joint initiative of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), Rajasthan Tourism, and Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, , is the three days B2B travel show that promotes Rajasthan as a preferred tourist destination. The event was inaugurated in Jaipur on Sunday.

The three-day tourism fair was inaugurated by NC Goel, Additional Chief Secretary – Tourism, Government of Rajasthan in the presence of Suman Billa, Jt. Secretary – Tourism, Government of India, and Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson, Tourism Committee of FICCI.

The highest priority to tourism infrastructure in the State is assured by the tourism department ministers during the event. Rajasthan has already submitted proposals to the Union Tourism Ministry to the tune of Rs. 500 crores for developing innovative circuits like Spiritual, Heritage, Mega Desert, Tribal and Eco-Adventure. Some infrastructure projects under the schemes of PRASAD and SWADESH were also being developed.

Owing to the development of infrastructure as well as an aggressive and creative marketing campaign, in the year 2016, Rajasthan registered an impressive growth of domestic tourist arrivals by 18% while that of foreign tourist arrivals by 3 %. In the current year, the tourist arrival trends are suggesting even better growth.

There has been an impressive growth of foreign tourist arrivals in the country to the tune of 11% and around 9% in domestic tourist arrivals in 2016, said Billa. The trend in initial months of 2017 indicate a growth of 16%. The primary reason for a quantum jump in the tourist arrivals was also owing to the introduction electronic visa facility.

GITB is the most significant platform and the sole promoter of Inbound Tourism in India. Giving a snapshot of GITB over the past few years the Chairperson of Tourism, Jyotsana Suri  highlighted that the number of buyers have increased from 260 to 275. There has also been significant rise in the number of B2B meetings from 3000 to 10,800 since it began.

Art on Wheels by Jaipur Art Summit and Uber

In another step towards appreciating art and making it accessible to more people, Jaipur Art Summit in collaboration with Uber, has come up with a unique platform, Art on Wheels. The platform is set to give artists from Rajasthan a chance to woo the city dwellers through their art, which will be seen running across the city streets displayed on Uber cars. This innovative campaign has been fashioned to celebrate creativity and to promote and encourage young talent from Rajasthan.

Uber, the urban way of travelling, that has changed the meaning of mobility for millions of people across the world and India, is all set to bring the artists of Rajasthan to the fore by introducing their art on more then 100 Uber vehicles.

The flagging off of the event that launched this initiative took place today at Ravindra Manch at 2:00 P.M. The artwork, converted into vinyl stickers, can be seen displayed on the bonnets of these cars. Inside each of these cars one can find interesting information related to the artist and Jaipur Art Summit.

Not only this, riders using these cars for travel will also get many surprises. Uber has rolled out some very amazing gifts for travelers of, Art on Wheels. Bibi Russell to showcase Khadi collection in Delhi

Bangladeshi designer Bibi Russell who recently opened a showroom in the state-run emporium – Rajasthali in Jaipur will now showcase Khadi collection at the seventh season of India Runway Week Winter Festive 2016 in Delhi. The event will take place from September 16-18 where Bibi Russell will be showcasing hand-woven fabric with a contemporary touch.

Russell went to London school of Fashion but still draws most of the inspiration from Asian women. She wants everyone to enjoy what they wear and designs in such a way that a teenager and adult can carry off the same clothes according to their style, as told by her to Jaipur Beat the last time she visited Jaipur.

Her collection at Delhi will be under the label Rajasthali by Bibi which will be brimming with colorful and designer clothes reflecting a completely new outlook.
