Indian Railways to begin Ramayana Circuit trains from November 2019

Owing to successful runs of four packages of special tourist trains last year in 2018, on Ramayana Circuit, covering places associated with Lord Rama as mentioned in the famous Indian epic Ramayana, Indian Railways is again re-launching two tour packages on this circuit this year in November, 2019. The two tourist trains will be run by Indian Railways PSU – Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd(IRCTC). These packages are part of Bharat Darshan scheme of IRCTC.

The first such train by the name “Shri Ramayana Yatra” is scheduled to depart from Jaipur (Rajasthan) via Delhi on 3rd November 2019. The package also includes the option of visiting Ramayana related places in Sri Lanka for a limited number of seats.

Shri Ramayana Yatra will start from Jaipur Railway Station with boarding / deboarding Stations at Alwar, Rewari, Delhi Safdarjung, Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Bareilly, and Lucknow.

The tour, which is starting on 03rd November, 2019 which will be a 16 Nights -17 Days tour, tourists will be visiting the tourist places associated with Lord Ram also known as “Ramayana Circuit of India”. Major places covered in this journey are Ram Janmbhoomi and Hanuman Garhi at Ayodhya, Bharat Mandir at Nandigram, Sita Mata Mandir at Sitamarhi (Bihar), and Janakpur (Nepal), Tulsi Manas Mandir and Sankat Mochan Mandir at Varanasi, Sita Samahit Sthal at Sitamarhi (UP), Triveni Sangam , Hanuman Mandir and Bharadwaj Ashram at Prayag, Shringi Rishi Mandir at Shringverpur, Ramghat and Sati Anusuiya Mandir at Chitrakoot, Panchvati at Nasik, Anjanadri Hill and Hanuman Janm Sthal at Hampi & Jyotirlinga Shiva Mandir at Rameshwaram.

 

Fare, facilities: Tourists will be offered vegetarian meals, accommodation and wash and change facilities in dharmashalas. All transfers & sight-seeing arrangements at tourist places will be by Non AC buses. A dedicated tour manager of IRCTC will be traveling with the tourists during the entire tour.

The total capacity of the train will be 800 Seats. Per person fare for the trip from Jaipur in Shri Ramayana Yatra, Tourist Train is Rs. Rs.16065 for the Indian Part of this tour covered by train.

IRCTC announces new Special Trains for Summers

In a new move to deal with the summer rush, Indian Railways’ northern division has announced special summer trains.

The special trains will operate on the following routes—New Delhi-Barauni, Anand Vihar-Chhapra, Chandigarh-Gorakhpur, Jammu Tawi-Udaipur. For those traveling to Rajasthan from Delhi or Jammu, here are the details of the weekly special train.

Jammu Tawi-Udaipur weekly special train (04972): It departs from Jammu at 9:30 AM every Thursday and reaches Udaipur next day at 9:20 AM. Then it leaves Udaipur at 1:50 PM every Friday and reaches Jammu next day at 3:20 PM.

Other special trains from Delhi to different parts of the country are as follows
New Delhi-Barauni AC train (04404): It departs from New Delhi at 7:25 AM every Tuesday and Friday, and reaches Burani Junction next day at 7:45 PM. Likewise, the train departs Burani every Wednesday and Saturday at 9:35 PM and reaches Delhi next day at 10:10 PM.

Anand Vihar-Chhapra train (04036): It departs from Anand Vihar in Delhi at 10:50 PM every Tuesday and reaches Chhapra next day at 7:30 PM. The train then departs from Chhapra at 11:30 PM every Wednesday and reaches Anand Vihar next day at 8:30 PM.

Chandigarh-Gorakhpur train (04924): It departs from Chandigarh every Thursday at 11:15 PM, and reaches Gorakhpur next day at 5:30 PM. Then it leaves from Gorakhpur at 10:10 PM every Friday and reaches Chandigarh next day at 2:25 PM.

IRCTC’s new facility of Changing Passenger’s name in booked E-Ticket

IRCTC now offers a very useful facility for the passengers traveling in a train. Now you can Change Passenger’s Name In Booked IRCTC E-Ticket.

This can be done by approaching the nearest railway reservation office. For availing this facility, the customer can now approach the nearest Railway Reservation Office with ‘electronic reservation slip’ print out and photo identity proof in original of one of the passenger traveling in the ticket at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure of train as per extant railway rules, IRCTC added.

Here are few things to know how to Change Passenger’s Name In Booked IRCTC E-Ticket:

1.    The reservation offices can change passenger’s name against a request from the passenger as per extant railway rules applicable to another face to face counter booked tickets.

2.    The facility in the name change of passenger holding confirmed e-reservation has been permitted as per extant Railway rules noted as under:-

a. Where the passenger makes a request in writing 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train to the nearest railway reservation office. It can be transferred to another member of his family, meaning, father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband and wife. He/she should bring the ‘electronic reservation slip’ print out along with photo identity card proof in original and a proof for blood relation desired to be changed.

b. Where the passenger is a Government Servant proceeding on duty and appropriate authority, makes a request in writing 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train.

3.    Such a request can be granted once only, said IRCTC.

IRCTC introduces ‘Book Now Pay Later’ facility in Tatkal Ticket Booking Service

IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) has introduced and new feature for booking tickets called “Buy Now Pay Later”. You can now buy your railway tickets via IRCTC website and pay later, which could reduce the hassle of going through the payment process at the time of booking.

In accord to this new facility to book tickets under Tatkal quota through official site of IRCTC, passengers can now pay later for the tickets that are booked under the Tatkal scheme. For passengers travelling under Tatkal quota, earlier they need to pay first using standard online payment gateways and then portal confirms the ticket. To get tickets under this quota, IRCTC users are able to pay using debit card, credit card or cash and get delivery of their tickets at their doorstep. As per the information, IRCTC processes about 130,000 tatkal transactions on daily basis and most of the tickets get booked within few minutes of the quota and as soon as the counter opens.

Special Summer Train between Hyderabad and Jaipur to begin from March 10

The summers in India means holiday time! To ease the pressure of travelling every year IRCTC introduces special train during summer season. To begin the season’s special trains, the South Central Railways (SCR) has announced a weekly Summer Special Train from Hyderabad to Jaipur from March 10.

As per the released schedule, the summer special train will make 34 trips till July. The train number (02731/02732) will originate from Hyderabad and halt at Nanded among few other Marathwada cities.

The special train will leave from Hyderabad every Friday at 4.25 pm and reach Nanded at 12.05 am before reaching Jaipur at around 6.25am on Sunday. In its return journey, the train will leave from Jaipur every Sunday at 03.00 pm and will reach Hyderabad via Akola and Nanded on Tuesday at 02.00 am.

The 18 coaches train will cover the following stations- .Nizamabad, Mudkhed, Nanded, Purna, Basmat, Washim, Akola, Khandwa, Bhopal, Ujjain, Ratlam, Ajmer and Mandar Junction.
