The Pink City of Jaipur marks the 107th Birth Anniversary of HH Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II today at the Ram Niwas Garden, Jaipur.
HH Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II was the last ruling Maharaja of Jaipur who embarked on a program of modernization, created infrastructure and numerous public institutions. He left the dwellers of Pink City with a lot of memories to treasure all through their lives.
The present Maharaja of Jaipur HH Padmanaabh Singh presided the ceremonial function at the statue of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II which was unveiled on 30th March 2015 on the occasion of Rajasthan Divas in Jaipur.
Today is an important date, the day when Jaipur’s Maharaja Sawai Man Singh –II was born 104 years ago. Maharaja Sawai Mansingh-II is remembered for his great contribution to the modern development of Jaipur city of Rajasthan.
His commendable initiatives in modernization of Jaipur, creating infrastructure and founding numerous public institutions are a great boon to the city. To celebrate the legendary Maharaja Sawai Man Singh’s 104th Birth Anniversary various social and cultural events are being organized in the Pink City today and tomorrow.
The 104th Birth Anniversary Celebration will be held today i.e. August 21, 2014 at Sawai Man Singh II Museum in City Palace Jaipur. A photographic Exhibition titled “Splendors of Indian Architectural Heritage” complimented by a talk show by Padma Shri Dr. Saryu Doshi will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014 05.00 pm at the Banquet Hall of Jai Niwas Garden, City Palace Jaipur.
The photographic exhibition is jointly organized by “Gunijankhana” and INTACH Jaipur Chapter in collaboration with “The Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) Jaipur Regional Chapter.
