The most promising and culturally rich Jodhpur festival is the Jodhpur Marwar Festival. It is held every year in memory of the heroes of Rajasthan. Originally known as the Maand Festival, Marwar Festival is held in the month of Ashwin i.e. September and October. Scheduled for 23rd and 24th October 2018, the festival enthralls the tourists with spectacular activities, sports and musical performances for two days.
The main attraction of this festival is the folk music centered on the romantic lifestyle of Rajasthan’s rulers and the heroic tales of chivalrous soldiers who died in the battlefield with bravery.

The music and dance of the Marwar region is the main theme of this festival. The folk dancers and singers assemble at the festival and provide lively entertainment. These folk artists give the spectators an insight of the days of yore, through their songs.

Among other attractions at the festival, is the camel tattoo show and polo. The venue of this festival includes the famous Umaid Bhawan Palace, Mandore and Mehrangarh Fort.

IRCTC’s new facility of Changing Passenger’s name in booked E-Ticket

IRCTC now offers a very useful facility for the passengers traveling in a train. Now you can Change Passenger’s Name In Booked IRCTC E-Ticket.

This can be done by approaching the nearest railway reservation office. For availing this facility, the customer can now approach the nearest Railway Reservation Office with ‘electronic reservation slip’ print out and photo identity proof in original of one of the passenger traveling in the ticket at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure of train as per extant railway rules, IRCTC added.

Here are few things to know how to Change Passenger’s Name In Booked IRCTC E-Ticket:

1.    The reservation offices can change passenger’s name against a request from the passenger as per extant railway rules applicable to another face to face counter booked tickets.

2.    The facility in the name change of passenger holding confirmed e-reservation has been permitted as per extant Railway rules noted as under:-

a. Where the passenger makes a request in writing 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train to the nearest railway reservation office. It can be transferred to another member of his family, meaning, father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband and wife. He/she should bring the ‘electronic reservation slip’ print out along with photo identity card proof in original and a proof for blood relation desired to be changed.

b. Where the passenger is a Government Servant proceeding on duty and appropriate authority, makes a request in writing 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train.

3.    Such a request can be granted once only, said IRCTC.

Jodhpur RIFF’s festivities will be kicked off by a two and a half hour variety program of traditional Rajasthani music, also featuring excerpts from our main stage performances and ending in a rousing finale with drummers and dancers. 4th World Living Heritage Festival in Udaipur

The 4th World Living Heritage Festival, being organized by the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF), jointly with UNESCO New Delhi Office, is bringing together a spectrum of artists and academicians, activists and student-delegates from India and overseas.

On October 17th, 2018, the Festival will begin with Ashwa Poojan – A Timeless Gratitude to Equinity. It is a ‘regal festival’ where Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar, as the 76th Custodian of the House of Mewar, worships the horse and reaffirms the time-tested ties of the warrior with his steed.

The fascinating  World Living Heritage festival focused on living heritage will be hosted in Udaipur on 17th and 18th October 2018. The French Ambassador to India, Alexandre Ziegler will inaugurate the 4th World Living Heritage Festival here at the Sabhagaar Conference Hall, The Durbar Hall, Fateh Prakash Palace Convention Centre, on October 18th, 2018. The visit and participation of the French Ambassador to one of the ‘Best Cities in the World’ are going to be some of the highlights.

The Festival will be a feast for the tourists who throng Udaipur during the season and its residents who have an ear for music and care to laud the talents of both young and veteran artists.

Abhaneri Festival begins today

Abhaneri is an ancient 9^th Century village situated in the Dausa district of Rajasthan, which is famous for its post- Gupta and early medieval period heritage. The village has also contributed numerous pieces of sculpture to various museums across the world. The main attractions are Abhaneri step-well and Harshat Mata Temple.

The Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan along with the Dausa District Administration every year organizes this cultural galore of vibrant activities and performances in Abhaneri village. It is organized to promote the heritage of the area.

Amer Night Tourism and Elephant Safari to remain closed from 9th -19th October 2018

Navratri Sthapna marks the beginning of festivities in almost all the states of India. While some travel buffs see this season as the season to travel to different parts of the world. If you are traveling to Rajasthan’s capital city Jaipur in the upcoming week and have elephant ride and night visit to Amer, then you need to skip that from the list as on the occasion of Navratri, the elephant rides and night tourism will remain closed from 9 to 19 October at Amer Fort. These facilities will remain closed owing to the security of tourists and arrangements of Shardiya Navratra Mela at the Shilamata Mandir located at Jaleb Chowk in Amer Fort.

Moreover, from 10 to 18 October, the booking facility for the entry to the Amber Fort has been facilitated at Singh pole and Tripolia Gate. The exit for the tourists is from Tripoliya Gate now.

Lion Safari for the visitors of Nahargarh Biological Park, Jaipur

The wildlife enthusiast in the city will now get the experience of watching the king of Jungle in wild with the opening of Lion Safari in Nahargarh Biological Park in Jaipur.  A total number of 10 lions have shifter to the park from different parts of the country. The visitors will be able to sight three cubs named as Tejas, Tripur, and Taara roaming freely over an area of 36 hectares.

With this, Rajasthan’s wildlife tourism is going to see a major hike in terms of adventure and excitement.  Tourists will enjoy sighting several other wild animals in the park during their safari. Very soon, chitals will also be released into the safari area.

According to the park officials, more vehicles will be introduced with the rise in the number of tourists in Lion safari. So this weekend, charge upon an adventurous wildlife safari and flaunt your selfies with the king of the jungle among your friends and relatives living outstation  😉
